Fiber Optic Power Consumption Information Acquisition System

System Makeup
The whole system consists of third-level equipment, second-level channels and a system, of which:

  • Third-level equipment refers to electricity metering equipment, data acquisition equipment and master station equipment.

  • Second-level channels means the data channel between data acquisition devices and meters (downlink channels) and that between data acquisition devices and master station system (uplink channel).

  • A system refers to the fiber optic integrated meter reading system.
     

Main Functions

  • Meter Reading: 16 independent optic communication interfaces, available for 16 fiber optic meters that automatically read and acquire cumulative electricity consumption and other information in each meter according to the pre-set reading and acquisition cycle, execute multi-rate and multi-period meter reading, receive instructions from the control center, and conduct real-time complete reading and optional reading. Support for dozens of communication protocols such as DL/T 645.

  • Remote Communication: support for multiple communication interfaces, among which users can choose according to their needs: GPRS/CDMA/Ethernet/EPON, and the like.

  • Automatic Report of Files: each downlink meter reading channel is an independent one that supports automatic report of meter address and other indices as well as installation and removal of meters.

  • Report of Power Failure: equipped with super capacitor back-up power, the system can continue to work for a while after commercial power is off to report power failure.

  • Monitoring and Warning for Abnormalities: automatic report of abnormal power consumption information when detecting any.

  • Clock Calibration: support for remote clock calibration from the master station, and clock calibration of meters and other equipment that are able to calibrate their clock.

  • Makeup of Meter Reading: the meter reading will be done again until the data is read if it is not read within the specified period of time. The meter that fails to read the data within the specified interval of reading will automatically send an alarm to the master station and save a certain amount of abnormal records for data interrogation by the master station.

  • Records of Events: records of events will be divided into important events and general ones according to their type. In balanced transmission channels, the meter supports to automatically send alarm information about significant events to the master station. As many as recent 500 records of events can be kept.

  • Interface Instruction: the upper diaphragm has power indicator, alarm indicator, uplink communication indicator, downlink communication indicator, Ethernet indicator, and 16 POF fiber optic communication connection indicator for respective indications. The lower diaphragm of the terminal has power indicator and network indicator to indicate the status of the power of GPRS module and whether GPRS is connected with the network.
     

 

How to build the system?

  • Installing a fiber optic smart single-phase meter in the place for electricity metering and laying polymer optical fiber lines between the concentrator and the meter.

  • Using the optical fiber concentrator inside or around the meter to automatically acquire power consumption data from each meter through the polymer optical fiber, and effectively managing the data.

  • Transmitting the data from the concentrator to the master station of the fiber optic integrated meter reading system through GPRS/CDMA/Ethernet/EPON or other methods, according to the meter reading plan of the system.

  • Conducting system alignment test for the above-said equipment that has been connected, releasing and sharing data in the form of WEB, report or database after the master station analyzes and sorts out the acquired data.

Technical Solution
Supporting data acquisition communication between the master station and terminals through GPRS/CDMA/Ethernet/EPON or other methods, and acquiring data through independent polymer optical fiber channels between terminals and meters.
